Canada is a country located in the northern part of North America. Politically, Canada is a federal constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system consisting of ten provinces and three territories. Framed to the east by the Atlantic Ocean, the north by the Arctic Ocean and west by the Pacific Ocean, it is bordered by the United States to the south and northwest. Canada covers an area of 10 million km2, making it the second largest country in the world after Russia3. In 2015, the country has about 35 million inhabitants, and is the 36th most populous country in the world. The territory contains more than 31,700 lakes, making Canada the country with one of the largest freshwater reserves in the world. The national languages are English and French, the federal capital Ottawa and the currency to Canadian dollars.
